Our number one priority at Reach for the Stars Tutoring, Inc. is to help students of all ages achieve success, reach their goals, have high self-confidence and feel good about themselves. We support students who are struggling and provide enrichment for students who need to be challenged. We are proud to say that we have worked with over 200 clients in our five plus years of operation and we’re always growing and expanding our services to meet the needs of families.
Reach for the Stars Tutoring, Inc. offers a variety of services. We provide private, in-home tutoring services for children and adults of all ages, from preschool through college and adult, in all subjects, for both general and special education. We also provide SAT prep, NYS test prep and prep for the GED and GRE exams. In addition, we give workshops in baby sign language, educating parents and teachers about the benefits of using sign language with their babies. We also offer family coaching services in which we help parents to manage behavioral issues and increase positive family dynamics. Last, we function as a resource center for students and families, referring them to educational, medical and business professionals as necessary and offering a variety of parent seminars.
The owner of the company, Melanie Rasmussen, is certified by New York State as both an elementary and special education teacher. She has been educating children and adults of all ages for over 15 years. She began Reach for the Stars Tutoring, Inc. in 2002 and today has more than 20 teachers working with her. Reach for the Stars Tutoring uses only New York State certified teachers and runs criminal background checks on each teacher.
